Happy World Oceans Day, everyone! This morning I took Daizy to the beach for a long walk. It was low tide so the sand was vast, and the sunny breezes were gently blowing.
Last week, as I lay in bed and began to relax, a new project idea popped in my mind. I've been toying with the urge to try image transfers, acrylics, glazes, and play with words and inspiring phrases.
I put together some of my favourite ocean, beach, and nature phrases...
"Individually, we are a drop. Together, we are an ocean." ~ Ryonosuke Satoro
"For whatever we lose (like a you or a me), it's always our self we find in the sea." ~ E. E. Cummings
Dusted off my acrylic paints, Indian inks, and made a run to Staples to make colour laser photocopies of some of my favourite paintings I've made. Then, I set to work!

I was expecting an easy and speedy process, but was surprised by how complicated it was to make each one! The end results turned out beautifully though, and better than I had hoped for. These little 5"x5" acrylic artworks really should be seen in person to be fully appreciated. I'll have them all available to purchase for $38 each at the Halifax Seaport Market this Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm.
