As I continue to prepare for the upcoming Toronto One of a Kind Show (booth Q-56), I'm feeling even more inspired with beautiful visual images dancing in my mind of things I want to paint next.
Last night after I finished in my studio I read for a little while before bedtime. As I was reading, each paragraph formed into cloud shapes with horizons. Every single paragraph. It was the neatest thing!

Today I bought the paint for my hard-wall display and I ordered the carpet. It's going to look gorgeous! Just like a bright beachy living space. Below is what my booth looks like so far, with 2 coats of primer...
I didn't realize you were coming to Toronto! I've never written before but I love your stuff and I try to check in on your blog when I can... in fact I just started reading Breath a few days ago, as per your recommendation. I was debating on whether or not to go to the one of a kind show, but this cinches it. I'll be sure to stop by and say hello! My name's Sonia, by the way. It's a pleasure to make your digital acquaintance.
ReplyDeleteThat makes me so happy, Sonia! I'm ear-to-ear smiles as I write this... I was really, really hoping that I would be able to meet some people in real life that enjoy my work online. Thank you for reaching out and saying hello. Isn't Breath the most refreshing, captivating, and mysterious story? It still haunts me and inspires me, even after almost a year later. I really loved that book. I haven't read anything else from Tim Winton yet. I think part of me feels he couldn't possibly top Breath. See you in a couple weeks! Daina
ReplyDeleteIt really is! It amazes me how these paragraphs of pure poetry pop up all of a sudden. I can't wait to see how it turns out. I've already written down two pages of quotes in my journal, and I'm sure I will use up many more before the book is done!
