Daina Scarola, Ocean Art Studio: Artsy Adventuring Through New England

Recently my artist friend, Bridget Turner, and I went on a much anticipated road-trip through New England states New Hampshire and Massachusetts on what you could call a business wholesale prospecting trip (whoa, that's a mouthful). We were super lucky to have won the support of the Nova Scotia government through the Craft Alliance and the Export Prospectors Program through Nova Scotia Business Inc. It was an incredible experience, with many ups and downs. We were pretty lucky to be able to do this at all, let alone in the company of a good travelling friend for support and encouragement. Imagine us, literally driving over a 1000 miles, stopping in quaint seaside towns where we had meetings set up and others where we just winged it based on gut-feeling, visiting shops and showing our samples and sharing our story like travelling vacuum salesmen. It was not easy, but we met so many incredible people along the way and made sure we took detours to the beach whenever we needed some rejuvenation...
