Custom Paintings in Retrospect, Part 1: Family

Custom paintings (referred to as commissions) have become not only my business's "bread and butter", but also the most memorable and special painting projects I do as an artist. They each have their own story and are full of symbolism and love.

Years ago when I began accepting commissions from fans, I found them to be incredibly stressful undertakings. I was afraid my client wouldn't be happy with my interpretation, or that the receiver of their gift wouldn't like it since art is so personal in taste. I was even worried I wouldn't be able to figure out how to paint what they expected me to.

Well, I am very relieved to share with you that every client has been 110% over-the-moon happy with their paintings, many even shedding tears of joy. Some of their painted memories have been of special places and travels, classic cars and VW vans, events, families, dogs and children.

In this 3-part series, I'd like to share with you some of the most special paintings I've created capturing Family...
